An Industrial Visit to *Sulfex Mattress PVT Ltd., Nadukani, Taliparamba* was organized by the *Department of Commerce, Wadihuda Women's Academe*, on 23.01.2024, Tuesday. A team of nine students accompanied by two faculties visited the company. The students were guided by *Ms.Rahida C, HOD & Assistant Professor of Commerce Department and Mr. Rahanas. T, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce*.
The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with practical insights into industrial operations. It also aimed to familiarize students with modern manufacturing processes, quality control measures etc.
*Sulfex Mattress PVT Ltd.* is a leading manufacturer of quality mattresses in Kerala and also India's largest rubberized coir mattress factory. The company produces different types of mattresses in different price ranges.
The students & faculties were welcomed by the factory Managers *Mr. Jishad, Mr. Santhosh and Ms. Beena, in charge of Raw materials.* They introduced & elucidated the different sections and processes of production. It enhanced the understanding of students regarding the lean manufacturing principles & the integration of technology in production processes.
It was particularly enlightening to witness real world applications of theoretical concepts learned in classrooms. They also clarified the doubts of students regarding the production related aspects.
This visit provided a valuable opportunity for students to bridge the gap between the theory and practical application. It was an enriching experience that will undoubtedly contribute to the academic development of students
